4 Secrets to Scale Your Business in 2022

Ready to scale your business in 2022? 2022 is the year to level up your business! Scaling your business isn’t about making those huge New Year Resolutions. It’s not about setting lofty goals. It’s not about following the New Year “trends.” Scaling your business is all about doing the work that most people don’t see! It’s the behind the scenes stuff that allows you to bring your business to the next level. Today, we’re sharing 4 secrets so you can scale your business the right way in the New Year!

Define Scaling Your Business

Our first secret to scale your business is to actually define what it means to scale for YOU. Scaling to one business owner will look very different from scaling to another. You have to start by defining it for yourself. What do you consider growing in the New Year?

First, define what scaling means to you in a very tangible! It should be so tangible that you would be able to sit down and form a strategy around those goals. For instance, many business owners may say,

“I want more community members.”

“I want more sales.”

“I want a larger team.”

“I want more income.”

None of the above goals are clearly defined. When goals are not clearly defined, they are not clearly able to be reached. You need to know what the target is EXACTLY! Therefore, ask yourself these questions-

“How many more community members do I want this year?”

“By what percentage can I increase my sales this year?”

“How many team members do I want to hire?”

“How much more revenue do I want to bring in?”

See how much more clear that is? Now you can strategically scale your business instead of hitting an unclear target!

Check Your Time

Next, in order to scale your business it is crucial that you start time blocking, condensing your time, and allocating your time correctly! If you’ve already maxed out the time you can spend on your business, start asking yourself how you can condense your time or allocate it in different areas.

You may need to write down how much time you are spending on each activity in your business. In addition, it is critical to use your time on the RIGHT activities! Just because you’re putting in the hours doesn’t mean you’re doing the right work in order to scale your business. When you’re trying to scale your business, you MUST start allocating your time to the activities that line up with your goals!

For example, when you want to grow your social platforms, you shouldn’t be spending all your time mindlessly scrolling on social media or watching what everyone else is doing. You should allocate time each day to interact with your community, interact with people outside of your community, create quality content, collaborate with like minded business owners, etc. Just because you are on social media doesn’t mean you are spending your time in the right areas to reach your goals!

The key here is: if you don’t allocate time for it, it will never happen! Therefore, before deciding to scale your business ask yourself these questions:

“What sacrifices can I make so I can focus more on scaling?”

“Are there areas where I can condense my time in order to spend time on the activities that will help me scale?”

“How much time am I willing to commit to this?”

“Am I spending too much time on the wrong activities?”

Develop a Marketing Plan

You’ve defined what scaling your business means to you. You’ve also started time blocking and allocating your time effectively, now it’s time to develop a marketing plan.

Many small business owners believe if you’re producing content every day, showing up on social media, and interacting that you’re doing a great job marketing. But there is nothing farther than the truth!

To scale your business, you CANNOT simply throw content out every day hoping something resonates or produces the results you are looking for. When scaling your business, you must develop a strategic plan that aligns with the goals for your business.

You should be way more focused on producing quality content that resonates and connects with your audience than just simply putting content out there! When you’re marketing doesn’t align with your goals, your audience will see you as a wishy washy business owner. Consequently, they will not see you as an expert in your industry resulting in you not reaching your goals or scaling your business.

Therefore, plan out your content ahead of time. Create the landing page, design the graphics, schedule the post, etc! Scaling your business can only be attained if you consistently do the right work!

Seek Accountability

Last, seek a reliable friend, family member, or fellow business owner to keep you accountable to your goals! This may seem like a small secret, but in reality- it is crucial to your success! When you surround yourself with people who don’t allow you to give up, you’re more likely to keep going. Likewise, when you surround yourself with people who allow you to make excuses and doubt yourself, you’ll find it 100% easier to quit.

When you’re not being held accountable, you’re not taking personal responsibility for your goals. Seeking accountability is making a public statement that you take responsibility for your dreams, goals, and business!

In order to scale your business, you have to get out of your comfort zone. You will have to do things that scare you. Staying safe and comfortable is not going to get you there.

Surround yourself with people who challenge you to go for it! You want people who will encourage you but also push you out of your comfort zone. Find people who don’t allow you to make excuses or doubt yourself. You may not realize it, but accountability from others can be the deciding factor for if you’re able to scale your business.
