A Bit About Chic

We (Katy and Melanie) created Chic Influencer because over the past 7 years of being in the trenches of building our own businesses we get asked all the time, “how did you do it?” People want to know how we grew our social media followings, how did we learn to use social media, grow engagement, build an organization, grow in times of challenge, and be able to create 7 figure incomes? We realize through talking with other business owners that they have amazing ideas but they just don’t know how to put it all into place. How to navigate the “messy middle” or how to take their BIG idea and turn it into the profit they envision it to be.

Chic Influencer has been on our hearts for a very long time. We have been brainstorming, masterminding, outlining the needs of the people we want to serve and we know that we can truly help people succeed in their lives. We also know that owning your own business can be lonely. So we wanted to create a community where business owners regardless of their industry could come together to collaborate, learn, and grow. We also know that there is so much information out there on the internet and it can be overwhelming to know what exactly you should pay attention. Chic Influencer is your one stop shop for everything you need to build your business.

Melanie Mitro
Co Owner & Founder

Melanie is the co-founder of Chic-Influencer, she is married to her husband Matt and has 2 boys, Landon (10) and Bryce (8). She and her family live in Mars, Pennsylvania. Melanie was the former Director of Early Intervention for a local company and after the birth of her son she left her career to be a stay at home mom. Melanie was introduced to network marketing after losing weight with at home fitness. In July of 2011, she launched her business with the vision of helping other mommas gain their bodies back after kids. Melanie has been in the network marketing industry for the past 8 years. She went from being a stay at home mom to the top distributor in the company in 3 years, creating a multi-seven figure income using social media as her primary source of marketing. She served on the Coach Advisory board for the company, and in 2018 she was given the CEO Award. Melanie has a passion for teaching women how to strategically market their businesses through social media to drive results. Melanie has spoken on stage for leadership conferences, annual Beachbody Coach Summits, and local events.

When she’s not focusing on her business she is either watching her sons play basketball or baseball, hanging out at home with the family snuggled up on the couch watching a movie with a dirty martini in her hand.

Katy Ursta
Co Owner & Founder

Katy Ursta is the co-founder of Chic Influencer, married to her college sweetheart, Mike, as a well as a a mom of two boys, Nick (9) and Dom (5). In 2012, while working as a middle school reading teacher, Katy started her entrepreneurial ventures with the company, Beachbody as a way to help offset the cost of groceries. Over the past 6 years, Katy has created a seven figure income, while working full time as a teacher and later battling stage 4 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. In 2015 she was the recipient of the company’s Humanitarian of the Year Award for raising over $70,000 through as a 2015 LLS Woman of the Year candidate through an online campaign known as #everysweatmatters.

Her passion for storytelling started long before her days as a teacher, but grew as she started to share publicly her own cancer battle. Since then, her writings have been featured on the Today Show, Today Parenting, Love What Matters, and Her View From Home. She’s spoken on stage for company conferences, the Beachbody annual Summit, and numerous local events about the power of storytelling.

When she’s not focusing on her business you’ll find her in the stands of her sons’ hockey games, or folding the never ending piles of laundry, looking for the matching sock, breaking up hockey fights, or (let’s just be honest) with her hand buried in the bag of chocolate, asking the question, “what do you want for dinner?”
