(1.) Create a summer schedule for your kids.  

I (Melanie) make sure that all sporting activities, summer camps and activities are on our master calendar.  Katy has a sitter that comes to her house Monday through Thursday from 9 am to 1 pm. We are not going to let our summer schedule run us but we are going to own it!

(2.) Create your own business hours.

In the summer I (Melanie) tweak my schedule because we really love to be outside in the afternoons and evenings.  So I change around my calls and business hours so that I’m getting my work done first thing in the morning. I then make sure to finish up right after lunch so we can have the freedom for the rest of the day.

(3.) Get up early and stay up late.

Personally I want to have the freedom to come and go thru the day when I want to.  That means that I cannot create more hours in my day but I can use my hours wisely.  I (Melanie) choose to get up at 5 am and get my income producing activities done when the house is quiet.  I also do have evenings after we come in from outside or get the kids in bed where I sneak into the office to crush out some more work.  I LOVE that I get to dictate my schedule, own my own business and be present with my family. The sacrifice is totally worth it!

(4.) Pare down your summer goals. Be consistent with your IPAs and know them.

This is a BIG ONE!!!  During the school year I have WAY more time to work on projects and add bells and whistles to my business.  During the summer season I find myself re evaluating my goals. I do not sell myself short but I get laser focused on income producing activities (conversations, invites, content, follow ups) and I make sure I stay in that super productive work zone.  I am aware of my distractions and I do my best to limit them.
