Vision Casting: Implement a Winning Vision

Today, we’re discussing a few steps for vision casting, so you can start the year of 2022 off focused and driven!

Start Dreaming Big

First, when you start vision casting in your business, you may struggle with self-doubt or imposter syndrome. But, it is okay to want something different or something more in your life. Dreaming big may feel very out of your comfort zone! This is how dreaming big should feel! Allow yourself to feel uncomfortable in it.

Of course, dreaming about financial freedom or being super successful can feel very intimidating. It can be hard to fathom at times! When you struggle to verbalize your dreams, it is best to write them down. Repeat them to yourself and allow yourself time to envision yourself where you dream. The more you spend time visualizing what you want, the more confident you will become in it. Start vision casting by making your goals very clear, and don’t feel embarrassed about what you want! You can’t hit a target unless your target is clear.

Think Realistically

Next when your vision casting, it is important for your visions or goals to be realistic. Dreaming big and dreaming realistically can and should go hand in hand. So ask yourself, are my goals realistic? Can I commit the time I need to these goals? How much time do I need to commit to these goals in order to make them a reality?

When you are a new business owner, it is a good idea to find someone who has accomplished what you are wanting to accomplish. Ask that business owner how much time realistically do you need in order to reach that goal. Ask them what their biggest challenges were? If you’ve been in your business for a little while now, you can easily look at your data as well. Are the goals or visions your setting in line with your actions so far? After reviewing your data, you will be able to identify if you can increase your goals by 10%. As a result, you’ll clearly see in what ways you can challenge and push yourself to achieve more.

Certainly, vision casting realistically isn’t supposed to put a damper on your dreams. It’s supposed to motivate you and bridge the gap from where you are to where you want to be. Often times, when the vision on your vision board isn’t obtainable for you, you are more likely to become paralyzed by the vision. This is what leads to so many business owners quitting or giving up on their goals. Your visions shouldn’t paralyze you! Instead they should motivate, challenge, and push you!

Find the Meaning

Are you creating visions that sound successful? Do your goals tend to be the ones EVERYONE defines as success?

Whenever, you’re vision casting it is critical to create goals that mean something to YOU! Not to your friends, your family, or other successful business owners, etc. What you consider successful could be completely different than what another business owner considers successful. And that is okay!

Undoubtedly, every business owner is reaching for different things. You aren’t going to want the same things out of life or your business as the next small biz owner.

If you’re putting the fancy house, nice car, and the 6 figure income on your vision board but it doesn’t mean something to you, it’s going to be hard to persevere when things get tough. You aren’t here to set insta-worthy goals! You’re here to set goals that have meaning behind them!

Therefore, ask yourself- What is success to me?

Is it having more time with your family?

Is it having the extra spending money to go on vacation?

Is it to relieve some financial stress from your spouse?

Define it! Write it down, and create your visions around what YOU want!

Bring the Action

Finally, when vision casting you have to acknowledge the action steps it will take to make that dream a reality! Most people can cast the vision, but 90% fail at creating the action behind the vision. As you think about your vision, you have to connect it to the work that has to happen.

Identify the income producing actions and make sure you block out time to do those things! When you dream big it is important to make sure the big dream isn’t making you shut down. Don’t get intimidated by the goals or the vision. Break down that vision by identifying the small daily, weekly, and monthly actions.

When you start accomplishing your daily and weekly goals, celebrate them!! Even the small wins are worth celebrating! When you celebrate and track even the smallest progress, it will motivate you to keep going.
