It’s official. We are more than half way through the month of November. Which means we are just days away from kicking off the holiday season, and is it time for business owners to start thinking about how they can become an intentional CEO.
It’s no secret that owning a small business is not easy. We have BIG goals and BIG dreams and as we inch closer to year-end, some of us are guilty of hitting the panic button feeling the need to choose between a thriving business OR spending time with your family.
Yes, stress comes hand in hand when you feel as though you need to do it all, especially during the holiday hustle. BUT what people don’t understand is that both of these CAN in fact CO-EXIST! What’s the secret you may ask?
It’s all about becoming an intentional CEO of your business. You have to show up, be strategic as well as purposeful in your planning. This will allow you to have not only the joy and memories with family and friends BUT the set-up needed to propel your business into 2021.
We won’t hide the fact that the word ‘intentional’ sounds cliche but this word is DRIVING each and every one of your action steps in your business. You are intentionally either moving the needle forward, staying in place OR in some situations, moving your business backwards.
So you may be asking yourself, well then, how do I become an intentional CEO?
You have to HUSTLE. And no, hustling does NOT have to be a constant 24/7 thing.
You can devote, for example, 3 hours out of your day towards your business. During that blocked time, you work intentionally – without distractions – and ask yourself these following questions:
- What am I working towards?
- Why am I doing this?
- What is the purpose?
Once you are able to zero in on those answers, you are able to then take the action(s) necessary.
It is important to keep in mind that being an intentional CEO is not being afraid to redirect your thoughts and ask yourself “Is this thing I am doing today going to get me to where I want to be tomorrow?”
During the holidays, this is where you need to build your momentum but remember, family + business does not and should not be an either/or!
